I'm sorry to ruin the normal flux of this novel and stain your reading, but I needed to intervene, I could not stand seeing all this shut up, telling only what the Author wanted. I am the Narrator. At first me and the Author had a lot of discussions and we agreed that I should not appear in this story. Trough mathematical logic he proved using the A+B theorem that when there is a good Author the characters and events speak by themselves, so the narrator is unnecessary. Thus, my role should be only to chose in which order should the chapters come, nothing more.
But I had luck and the Author the cunning (or inability) to let some chapters go without the deserved attention.
At first he wanted to write a scene in some asylum, mad house, or something like that, which should explain it all, but I convinced him otherwise. Inpired by the book "The Left Hand" from Fausto Wolff, he allowed me to present myself and explain it all. But, as it is probably the last time he allow me to do such madness, I'll have not hurry.
The chapter you just read before this is a glimpse into the mind of the protagonist when he is at nineteen. Oh, yea. In case someone didn't noticed, there is a protagonist in all this mess, who is Anacreon, some insane character in a desperate search for something he doesn't know what is.
This last chapter was written for an especial reason, to show the reader that he is becoming insane and megalomaniac. This insanity is not straight, be has existed in all his life. But, for stylistic purposes, this narration will show this insanity each time more than the reason, as the searching process gets deeper.
Double attention in what was said: "it is better fail than not to act". This will be spoken by the protagonist to some young and delicious woman. After two years in which he will be under complete madness, they will meet again, fall in love, and she will give back this saying as "it is better regret something you done than regret something not done". He, of curse, will torture himself night and day for not having tried to catch the lady in the past, thus this will wreak havoc in his world because it has been broken the basic law: act instead of hesitate, never regret. After that, his life will become completely meaningless while he look for a way to close his wound, a wound which will left life flowing away from him while open.
Damn! I spoke too much. In this moment the Authos is mad at me and thertening to erase all I wrote. It is better stop now if I want to return in some other book again. He says now that he will have a lot of work to fix the surprise I broke, but i guees he wanted, in fact, omit some embarrassing details about the protagonist that I ended up telling...
